Two teams with the same Aspirations(pun intended), but at somewhat different, yet similar steps in their team development. The Oklahoma City Thunder are just of the heals of their championship run, and it feels like it would take a monumental effort from an opposing team, to ruin their back-to-back hopes. But, I think their downfall could be easier than people think.

They don’t have many weaknesses, their chemistry is off the charts, they have extreme depth at each position, and there isn’t many egos on the team. They understand who they’re leader is, and who there secondary scorer is. Its they’re third option that is seemingly up in the air; the obvious option is Chet, but, they have so much depth, an argument could be made for the developing Wiggins, or A.J Mitchell.

For the Lakers, they are heading in one direction now. Which is good. But they are still adjusting from going in one direction, which was elderly, to a completely new direction, a youth movement. What we are witnessing now is the tail end of them adjusting from their old system, into their new system. They are in a much better place going forward(as long as they can retain the magic man), with younger pieces developing around their new superstar, thanks to Nico.

Overall, the OKC is the juggernaut, that can only be beat by a couple of teams. San Antonio. Golden State. And I’d like to see a series with them and Houston.
