Each at-bat after another, boo’s rained down from the revengeful Houston fans who remembered Sotos iconic blast against Gerrit Cole in game 6 of the World Series. It was only a matter of time before Soto responded with a blast of his own.

In the 3rd inning that’s exactly what he did as he launched Hunter Browns 96 MPH fastball off the second deck awning out in right field.

Soto’s solo blast wasn’t the only knock of the game for the Mets as Mark Vientos continues his excellent start as he ripped an rbi double down the left field line into the Crawford boxes. Winker followed him up with a rope to center field to put the Mets up two. The Mets bullpen also flashed their 2024 postseason form holding the Astros to no runs while notching four strikeouts. Arms like Reed Garret, A.J Minter, Ryan Stank and Edwin Diaz backed Tylor Megills strong performance to start the 2025 Season.

Tylor Megill struck out six Astros, Edwin Diaz notched his first save and the Mets get their first win of their season.
